Time of Goodbye..

First of all, a grateful word of thanks to all of those who shared words of condolence or encouragement to me when my father passed away a couple of weeks ago. As you might imagine, that set me back and put me a bit behind in updating items and, once again, my regular return to the coffeehouses.

But anyway, here is one item for you: watch for Bill Geezy and the Promise Breakers to release a new CD called "Can't Stop Thinking 'Bout My Baby". They will be at the Minnesota Folk Festival in Hastings on Sat. June 25th at 5:00 and at The Taste of Minnesota on Harriet Island on July 2nd at 3:00 on the Rock and Roll stage.

I'll be back...

Yippee--Spring!

Spring has finally arrived...and they say our temperatures have been above average! How's that for a switch!

Nicer weather is for many a motivator to get out and catch some good music. It also means the kickoff for a lot of the outdoor events we look forward to around here each year. So, it's not too early to remind you of one of the next big events: the 2004 Minnesota Folk Festival!

Minnesota Folk Festival
June 25 & 26, 2005
Little Log House Pioneer Village, Hastings, MN

Featuring the 6th annual New Folk Songwriting Contest, singer/songwriter Michael Johnson, Lynn Miles, Wild Goose Chase Cloggers, Paul Geremia, Pigs Eye Landing, Machinery Hill, Bill Geezy and the Promise Breakers, Cam Waters & Kari Larson, The Granary Girls, David Stoddard (2004 New Folk Songwriting Contest winner), the 2nd Annual Henry Ford fiddle contest, and much more.  Visit www.minnesotafolkfestival.org to find out more about the festival, volunteer and exhibit opportunities, how to get there and much more information.

Yes, yes, I will be back out and about shortly myself. April ended up pretty shot due to work demands, "Embrace Encouragement" development, a nasty cold and necessary travel. One gig that is on my list to check out is the Women's Acoustic Jam & Songwriting Showcase at SiSu Cafe on Snelling Avenue in St. Paul. Sponsored by WIMMN, these take place usually on the last Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

See you out there sometime...honest.

Till next time ... Wendy
