A sad note...

Unfortunately, a sad note to mark the beginning of this year: Bob Feldman, president of folk label Red House Records and longtime co-host of KFAI's  "Urban Folk" program, passed away on Wednesday, January 11. His impact on the Twin Cities music scene was huge...many of the local artists heard often on public/community radio were signed to Red House. 

I met Bob a few times years ago, so he was familiar with me and my work. I also recall hearing his name in church of late in the prayer request list, and wondered if was the same Bob we were praying for. Perhaps it was.

He will certainly be missed...please keep Bob's wife, Beth Friend, and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

One bit of good news: Sam Shaber returns to Ginkgo Coffeehouse February 17th at 8:00. If this pseudo-winter continues (no complaints from me!) and there's no snow or ice, I'll be there!

Also, let me get a mention in for the following:

Tickets: $10 Advance, $12 at the Door. Advance tickets will be available online until 5 PM Friday, January 27. They will be available at the door at the event.
