A
little background:
Radio Regulars actually began as a newsletter in 1991 to support
musicians often heard on public radio shows and keep fans posted on
news, recording, tour dates, etc for people like Peter Ostroushko, Kate
MacKenzie, Robin and Linda Williams and others who performed regularly
on A Prairie Home Companion and other such shows. The newsletter itself
lasted five years. Eventually, the features migrated to my web site and
until recently were blended into my radio page. However, as I was
thinking about my years of fandom in preparation for my audiobook,
and after attending a PHC show after having been away from the live
shows for awhile, I remembered what a special place in my life these
musicians had, and continue to have. Radio Regulars the
newsletter was the foundation of the support work I went on to do with
local coffeehouse musicians. Without their support of me supporting
them, I might not have had the encouragement to forge ahead with Local
Folk, Wendy V's Local Blend, etc. And besides, once I start supporting
you in earnest, you're stuck with me. So, this page is for you to
notice them and their gifts. Featured
here are those artists which I closely associate with
regular appearances on public radio shows I listen to...such as past
and present regulars on "A Prairie Home Companion", Minnesota
Public Radio's "The Morning Show". With the growth and development of the Internet, my job
became a bit easier. Minnesota Public Radio in
particular has done a fabulous job with its websites. Some of the artists also have
their own web pages. So, this page will point you in the direction of
those websites of interest.

program and I don't get paid to do any of this. This is strictly a
fan venture done for love for nearly 20 years--read
